From 19 to 20 February 2026, the Chinese International Language and Culture College of Krirk University, in collaboration with the International College and the Center for Social and Academic Services, organised a two-day Chinese Language and Culture Training and Exchange Programme at Wiset Chai Chan Witthayakom School in Ang Thong Province, Thailand.
The programme featured a diverse range of activities, including Chinese language classes, Chinese calligraphy workshops, traditional Chinese acupressure and wellness practices, Baduanjin Qigong, Tai Chi, and Tai Chi fan exercises. The activities received a warm welcome from the school’s faculty members and students.
At the opening ceremony, Dr. Su Yanqing presented a Tai Chi demonstration for Thai faculty members and students, while Dong Yanliang performed Chinese songs to open the programme. The performances created a warm and lively atmosphere for the event.
In the Chinese language classes, Thai Chinese-language teachers—Jirarat Pokrajang, Sangtawan Parksamut, and Nattakanin Nijarom—together with Chinese student volunteers Wang Tanglei, Huang Shaoyi, Sun Leiyang, Liu Xiuli, and Wang Zixiang, delivered structured language instruction and designed a range of engaging interactive games. Listening, speaking, reading, and writing practice were meaningfully integrated into the classroom activities, encouraging students’ active participation and enthusiasm for learning.
The teaching team also prepared a creative lightweight-clay activity, guiding students to shape Chinese characters by hand. Through three-dimensional construction and hands-on practice, students gained a deeper understanding of the structural features and cultural meanings of Chinese characters. This engaging, activity-based approach created a relaxed and lively classroom environment, encouraged frequent teacher–student interaction, and supported effective learning.
During the cultural exchange session, Thai students presented a Muay Thai demonstration, showcasing an important element of local culture. Dr. Su Yanqing demonstrated Tai Chi fan techniques and led faculty members and students in Baduanjin practice to promote physical and mental well-being.
Dr. Lin Yanhua (Dr. Suparata Kiartivich) introduced students to traditional Chinese acupressure and its potential role in health promotion and disease prevention. She also presented a cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease risk-screening application to strengthen students’ awareness of health self-management. Liu Dijun gave a live demonstration of Chinese calligraphy, with Thai students and teachers enthusiastically taking part in the writing experience, creating a vibrant atmosphere of cultural exchange.
In her closing remarks, Principal Wedarat Panthong noted that the programme’s rich and diverse activities not only strengthened students’ interest and proficiency in Chinese language learning, but also provided valuable opportunities for faculty members and students to experience Chinese culture. She expressed her sincere appreciation for Krirk University’s thoughtful organisation and looked forward to closer future collaboration. She also welcomed Chinese teachers and students to take part in regular volunteer and exchange activities.
Both parties plan to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in the near future to establish a long-term partnership.
The participating Chinese students noted that the teaching and exchange activities in Ang Thong Province not only enhanced their practical skills, but also gave them a valuable opportunity to experience Thai local culture firsthand. They expressed their appreciation to the University for providing this meaningful platform.
The event further advanced Thailand–China educational cooperation and people-to-people exchange, laying a strong foundation for a long-term, stable, and mutually beneficial partnership.
