Krirk University Team Visits the Sexually Transmitted Diseases Medical Center in Wang Rak District, Thailand

On April 29, 2025, a delegation from Krirk University, led by Dr. Suparata Kiartivich, Acting Director of the Center for Academic and Social Services Promotion, and Lecturer Ms. Li Jiaqi, visited the Sexually Transmitted Diseases Medical Center in Wang Rak District, under the AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Diseases Division of the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health of Thailand. The visit aimed to conduct academic exchanges and learning activities. The visiting team was warmly received by the center’s director, Mr. Rosapong Kitiyawamarn.

During the interactive session that followed, Chinese students actively shared their experiences and practices regarding health education and the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases in China. They also engaged in lively discussions with Thai experts on related professional topics.

In the second phase of the visit, Director Rosapong led the Krirk University team on a tour of the center’s outpatient department, providing a detailed explanation of the specialized diagnostic and treatment procedures for sexually transmitted diseases, as well as professional methods for pathological specimen collection. Under the guidance of medical staff, some students personally experienced relevant testing procedures, which enhanced their understanding of practical clinical operations.

During the Q&A session, Director Rosapong specifically emphasized the importance of comprehensive medical history collection, noting that it directly influences the design of treatment plans, the selection of diagnostic tests, and the effectiveness of targeted health education. He stressed that establishing a good doctor-patient relationship is essential in achieving these goals.

Afterwards, the visiting team proceeded to the center’s laboratory, where, under the guidance of professional staff, they observed various specimens of sexually transmitted diseases through microscopes. This provided the students with valuable hands-on experience in practical clinical diagnostics.

Before the conclusion of the visit, Director Rosapong delivered a closing speech. He especially reminded Chinese students to learn how to protect themselves and those around them during their studies in Thailand, emphasizing the importance of knowledge about the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases. He also expressed a warm welcome for students to contact the center for assistance whenever they encounter health-related concerns.

This visit not only deepened the professional understanding of sexually transmitted disease prevention and control among Krirk University’s faculty and students but also promoted academic exchange and cooperation between China and Thailand in the field of public health.
