Krirk University’s British International College (BIC) in Thailand is dedicated to expanding access to higher education and promoting equity by offering scholarship opportunities to international students from diverse economic and social backgrounds. Through tiered tuition fee assistance, the College substantially eases the financial pressures associated with pursuing higher education, empowering promising students to achieve their academic aspirations.
Providing Financial Support and Expanding Educational Opportunities
In many developing countries, higher education expenses pose a considerable burden for average families, and some students face the risk of having their academic journeys interrupted due to household financial hardship.
According to the latest scholarship data from the British International College, a total of 46 international students from Myanmar, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Ethiopia have received tiered tuition support, distributed as follows:
1 student received a 100% full-tuition scholarship;
3 students received a 50% tuition scholarship;
28 students received a 30% tuition scholarship;
The remaining students received 10% or 20% tuition fee subsidies.
These multi-tiered financial aid packages are tailored to meet students’ genuine financial circumstances, effectively reducing economic burdens and ensuring that talented young scholars are not denied an education due to financial hardship.
Empowering Poverty Alleviation and Advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals
Education is one of the most effective pathways to breaking the intergenerational cycle of poverty and fostering social equity. By lowering tuition barriers, the British International College not only alleviates students’ immediate financial anxiety during their studies, but also equips them to achieve personal development and improve their families’ livelihoods in the long term.
This initiative reflects the College’s commitment to inclusive education and serves as a tangible contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), notably SDG 1 (No Poverty) and SDG 4 (Quality Education). By proactively removing economic hurdles for its students, the College exemplifies the vital responsibility higher education institutions must embrace in advancing educational accessibility and social inclusion.
Upholding the Mission of Education and Fostering an Inclusive, Diverse Environment
By continuously advancing its scholarship programs, Krirk University’s British International College remains committed to providing an equitable academic platform for young people from diverse national and economic backgrounds. This initiative highlights the essential role universities play in breaking down financial barriers, empowering youth development, and fostering an inclusive, welcoming educational environment.
