On September 20, 2024, Krirk University organized a workshop seminar under the topic: “Public Participation and the Election of Local Council Members and Local Administrators: Roles, Duties, and Powers of Local Executives.”
The objective of the event was to foster understanding and raise awareness of the importance of public participation in local elections and administration, as well as to highlight the vital role of local executives in the local governance system.
The seminar was honored by the presence of Mr. Saheh Muhammad Alidrus, Member of Parliament for Pattani Province, Constituency 5, who presided over the opening ceremony. Additionally, Professor Dr. Charan Maluleem, Vice President for International Affairs of Krirk University, warmly welcomed all participants.
The keynote speech was delivered by Mr. Parit Wacharasindhu, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee, under the topic:
“Youth Participation in Politics within a Democratic System and the Election of Local Council Members and Local Executives.”
Participants included representatives from local administrative organizations, local executives, council members, students, and members of the public who joined via online platforms. The event served as a platform for exchanging ideas and experiences on enhancing community participation in sustainable local development.
This seminar aimed to build a collaborative network between citizens and local leaders, while also promoting transparency and efficiency in local governance moving forward.
