“One Day Volunteer @Chaam” 1

On Saturday, January 14, 2023, the International Islamic College Bangkok organized the first “One Day Volunteer @Chaam” field trip as part of their community service initiative to promote love for the Thai land. The event saw participation from 50 undergraduate students in the Islamic Business Administration program, including both Thai and Arab students.

In the morning, Professor Dr. Jarun Maluleem, the Dean of the International Islamic College Bangkok, assigned Assistant Dean Mr. Sarawut Laem and staff members Ms. Kunpanat Suwannarak, Ms. Sorasawan Mahamad, Ms. Pirada Wangso, and Mr. Nantawat Mala to lead the students in planting mangrove trees at Klongkon Sub-district in Samut Sakhon. This location is a well-known conservation tourism site in Thailand. The goal was to engage students in volunteer work to restore the mangrove ecosystem, which is a crucial ecological zone connecting land and sea in tropical and subtropical regions and serves as a sustainable food chain for humanity.

In the afternoon, students had the opportunity to visit the Nurul Ehsan Mosque, part of the Royal Initiative Project at Huai Sai Tai. They received a warm welcome from Imam Yafar Janthon, who gave a lecture on “Coexistence on Thai Land with the Graciousness of His Majesty King Rama IX.”

The trip concluded with students, both Thai and Arab, participating in a beach cleanup at Cha-Am beach to enhance its beauty and cleanliness for both Thai and international tourists. This activity was highly praised by local residents.
