Participatory bodies for stakeholder engagement

To strengthen collaboration between higher education and industry, Krirk University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 14 leading tourism industry organizations and professional associations in Thailand, establishing a long-term partnership that promotes stakeholder participation in university development, curriculum enhancement, and workforce preparation.

The participating organizations include:

·        Tourism Council of Thailand

·        Professional Guide Association of Thailand

·        Thai Hotels Association

·        Thai Tourist Business Promotion Association

·        Association of Domestic Travel

·        Thai-Chinese Tourism Alliance Association

·         Association of Thai Travel Agents (ATTA)

·        Thai Transportation Operators Association

·        Guide and Tourism Industry Association

·        Tourism Media Association

·        Thai Traditional Medicine Wisdom Organization

·         Thai Lue Association of Thailand

·        Chinese Speaking Guide Club

·        Blue Star Co., Ltd. (Health Tourism Organization)

This partnership goes beyond the signing of an MoU by establishing a formal participatory mechanism through which key stakeholders from the tourism industry actively contribute to the University’s academic and professional development. As representatives of industry and civil society, these organizations work closely with Krirk University to provide professional expertise, practical insights, and recommendations for programme development and future workforce needs.

Under the agreement, the partner organizations collaborate with the University in curriculum development, internship placement, professional training, guest lectures, career guidance,
research collaboration, and community engagement activities. They also provide continuous feedback on industry trends, emerging skills, and labour market demands, enabling the University to regularly review and enhance its academic programmes to ensure that graduates possess the knowledge and competencies required by the tourism sector.

In addition, Krirk University actively invites representatives from industry associations, tourism enterprises, and professional organizations to participate in academic
seminars, curriculum consultation, career development programmes, and university–industry dialogue. Through these collaborative activities, stakeholders contribute to discussions on curriculum improvement, professional standards, graduate employability, and the future development of Thailand’s tourism industry, while creating meaningful learning and employment
opportunities for students.

By establishing long-term partnerships with industry organizations, Krirk University has developed an effective stakeholder engagement mechanism that encourages shared
participation, collaborative decision-making, and mutual development between the University, industry, and society. This participatory approach ensures that academic programmes remain responsive to societal and labour market needs while strengthening the University’s contribution to sustainable economic and social development.
