To support sustainable development and promote the well-being of the university community, the university has implemented a strategy to encourage walking as a mode of short-distance travel. Student and staff dormitories are located within walking distance of the campus, helping to reduce reliance on motor vehicles, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and alleviate traffic congestion within the university area.
Additionally, the interior design of campus buildings supports active behavior. Staircases are promoted as a healthier alternative to elevators, with motivational signage placed along the way. For example, messages such as ‘Climbing 3 floors burns approximately 15 calories’ are displayed to encourage physical activity as part of daily routines in a simple and sustainable way.
