The Faculty of Public Health at the International College, Krirk University, has launched a sustainable community development project incorporating Lifestyle Medicine.

On August 1, 2024, the Faculty of Public Health at the International College, Krirk University, organized a sustainable community development project integrating Lifestyle Medicine. As part of the university’s academic services to the community, the event featured a special health promotion activity through Tai Chi at the Ramintra Sports Center.

The activity began with a lecture by Dr. Zhao Ye and Dr. Supornta Kiatwich, a Chinese physician, who introduced the origins of Tai Chi and shared global research findings. Their presentation emphasized the importance of Lifestyle Medicine and regular physical activity in promoting both physical and mental well-being. Long-term Tai Chi practice has been shown to benefit people of all ages—particularly elderly individuals with chronic illnesses.

Following the lecture, the event welcomed Professor Xu Xiaoyang, a renowned Tai Chi master from Changzhou City, China. A disciple of Grandmaster Tian Jinlong, who developed the “Three-Swing” Tai Chi movement, Professor Xu provided a live demonstration and gave personalized instruction to participants. Attendees showed great enthusiasm and expressed interest in continuing their Tai Chi practice in the long term.

The university hopes this project marks a meaningful step toward improving community health through the integration of traditional and modern medical approaches.
