On 19–20 February 2026, the Chinese International Language and Culture College, in collaboration with the International College and the Center for Social Service and Academic
Outreach at Krirk University, organised a two-day Chinese Language and Chinese Cultural Training and Exchange Programme at Wiset Chaichan Witthayakhom School in Ang Thong Province, Thailand.
This programme formed part of Krirk University’s ongoing University Outreach initiatives, aiming to provide secondary school students with greater access to international educational resources, promote educational equity and inclusion, and strengthen educational cooperation and cultural exchange between Thailand and China. The programme was
open to all students, with female and male participants enjoying equal opportunities to engage in learning, practical activities, and cultural exchange, reflecting the University’s commitment to equal educational opportunities and gender equality. The programme integrated Chinese language instruction with traditional Chinese cultural experiences, including Chinese language classes, Chinese calligraphy, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), acupressure for health promotion, Baduanjin Qigong, Tai Chi, and Tai Chi Fan. Through these activities, students enhanced their Chinese language proficiency, intercultural communication skills, global perspectives, and appreciation of Chinese culture while developing awareness of healthy lifestyles.
Chinese language classes were jointly delivered by Thai Chinese-language teachers Jirarat Pokrajang, Sangtawan Parksamut, and Nattakanin Nijarom, together with Krirk University student volunteers Wang Tonglei, Huang Shaoyi, Sun Leiyang, Liu Xiuli, and Wang Zixiang. Interactive teaching methods—including language games, group-based learning, and creative Chinese character modelling with lightweight clay—were incorporated into the lessons, effectively integrating listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills while creating an engaging learning environment that stimulated students’ enthusiasm and deepened their understanding of Chinese language and culture.
During the cultural exchange programme, students from Wiset Chaichan Witthayakhom School demonstrated Muay Thai, showcasing Thailand’s rich cultural heritage. Faculty members from Krirk University introduced traditional Chinese culture through demonstrations of Tai Chi, Tai Chi Fan, Baduanjin, and Chinese calligraphy, fostering mutual understanding, cultural appreciation, and friendship between Thai and Chinese participants. Dr. Su Yanqing demonstrated Tai Chi and Tai Chi Fan and led students and teachers in practising Baduanjin, promoting healthy lifestyles and physical and mental well-being. Liu Dijun presented the art of Chinese calligraphy and guided participants through hands-on writing experiences, allowing students to appreciate the beauty and cultural significance of traditional Chinese calligraphy.
A special health education session was delivered by Dr. Suparata Kiartivich, who introduced the application of traditional Chinese acupressure in disease prevention and demonstrated a cardiovascular disease screening application. Her presentation encouraged students to adopt scientific health management practices while enhancing their awareness of disease prevention and personal well-being. As a distinguished Thai female scholar with an international academic background in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dr. Suparata Kiartivich has devoted her career to promoting the international development of TCM, health education, and medical workforce development. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Traditional Chinese
Medicine from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a Master’s degree from Fudan University, and a Doctoral degree in Rehabilitation Medicine from Shanghai University of Sport (formerly Shanghai University of Sport and Physical Education). Her academic training in China enabled her to develop comprehensive expertise in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and modern rehabilitation medicine. After returning to Thailand, Dr. Suparata founded Ban Mor Klay Clinic, where she provides holistic healthcare services using acupuncture, cupping therapy, Gua Sha, Qigong, and Chinese herbal medicine, contributing significantly to the promotion and clinical application of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Thailand. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Suparata serves as a faculty member in the Department of Medicine and Nursing Science at Krirk University. She actively integrates her international academic experience and clinical expertise into teaching, research, and community service, preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals with global perspectives. She regularly returns to China for academic exchanges, professional training, and continuing education, ensuring that her teaching and professional practice remain aligned with the latest developments in Traditional Chinese Medicine and rehabilitation medicine.
During the outreach programme, Dr. Suparata not only shared knowledge on disease prevention and health management but also reflected on her own journey of international study,
clinical practice, and professional development. As an accomplished female academic and healthcare professional, she inspired students—particularly female students—to pursue studies and careers in medicine, health sciences, and international education, encouraging lifelong learning, professional excellence, and meaningful contributions to public health and sustainable
development.
At the closing ceremony, Principal Wedarat Panthong highly commended the programme, noting that the diverse range of activities had significantly enhanced students’ interest in
learning Chinese while providing valuable opportunities to experience Chinese culture firsthand and broaden their international perspectives. She expressed sincere appreciation to Krirk University for organising the programme and welcomed continued collaboration through regular volunteer and educational exchange activities. Both institutions also agreed to establish a long-term partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
This outreach programme demonstrates Krirk University’s strong commitment to community engagement by strengthening partnerships with schools and local communities, expanding access to quality education, promoting health literacy, and fostering international cultural exchange. By providing equal opportunities for female and male students to participate in educational and intercultural activities—and by highlighting the achievements and leadership of outstanding female academics such as Dr. Suparata Kiartivich—the University continues to promote educational equity, gender equality, social inclusion, and sustainable development.
